The University of California, Los Angeles or, UCLA, football team is known as the Bruins. UCLA competes in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision and the Pac-10 Conference. UCLA began competing in football in 1919 and has an all time football record of 516–348–37. The UCLA school colors are Blue and Gold. UCLA plays its home football games in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Rick Neuheisel, a former UCLA quarterback, is the head football coach. 2009 proved to be a rebuilding year for the Bruins, as they finished the season 6-6. The Bruins will head to Washington, D.C. with a bid to play in the 2009 EagleBank Bowl.
